Manufacturing FAQ | Sales FAQ

Nimbit is an all-in-one platform for direct-to-fan sales, marketing, distribution and artist management. What does that mean? Once the music is produced, Nimbit provides storefronts for you to sell with, fan and customer management tools to market with, and distribution services to deliver your products and music everywhere. Then we throw in website and content management capability and a bunch of other business services. It’s all in one place, seamlessly integrated to help build and manage your music business more efficiently and effectively.

Thousands of independent artists and many labels and managers use Nimbit everyday to develop and manage their business. Some names you might know: Glen Philips, Charles Mingus, Rounder Records, Duke Levine, Alison Krauss, Sucka Brown, Ellis Paul, and a whole lot of others. You can see more nimbit artist profiles here [see more artists]

You can start selling with our tools for free. Yes, FREE. Our premium plans which provide more sales and marketing options start at $5 per month. We offer custom services that are available at per-project rates. You can learn more here [see our plans]

The OMT is a portable online widget that allows you to place your storefront all over the Web, including your own website, fan sites and social network sites like MySpace and Facebook. Fans can buy your MP3s, CDs, merchandise, and even tickets to shows, all in one place! Fans can also share this widget on their sites and blogs to create a viral network for promoting your music across the Web.

Think of Nimbit as the next generation platform for the new music business – not just sales and distribution, but an integrated system designed to build and sustain a direct-to-fan business around the artist. We offer tools to manage fan lists, street teams and websites, track airplay and help make intelligent choices. We add in world-class production and promotion services for your recording project, no matter how big or small. We do all this at the lowest costs possible with the highest level of service, because we believe that by helping our artists win, we win too. If you find any other company that comes close to what we do, please let us know, but so far we are still looking.

Yes, of course you can. But, you can only use one company to sell on places like iTunes. Otherwise, it’s totally non-exclusive. Although, you may find our commission rates are much better. [see our plans]

While it feels like forever, the folks at nimbit have been helping musicians for over a decade. Back in the mid ‘90s Artist Development Associates (ADA) began helping artists manufacture CDs and sell them online. Fast forward a few years, and they merged with this new company, Nimbit, which was helping musicians manage their online stuff – websites, mailing lists, and the like. The rest is history. Labels and artists alike can benefit from every tool nimbit has to offer. We’ve worked with all levels of talent and just as many record labels.

Absolutely! Drop our Online Merch Table (OMT) widget onto your site, and suddenly your store is open for business. We have other content management and marketing widgets that also work with whatever site you are using to promote yourself

It doesn’t hurt, but you can use Nimbit to sell merchandise, tickets, or just about anything you can think of. Well, not quite anything … but you get the idea.

We’re not telling. Actually, the founders wouldn’t tell us. Here’s a hint: the first two letters stand for ‘New Ideas…’

You bet! Our crack team of designers have designed everything from CDs to Posters to all kinds of custom merchandise.

It’s one of the things we do best. From 250 to 250,000 no order is too big or too small

Virtually everyone involved with Nimbit has been, or still is, an active musician. We know what musicians are looking for, because we already looked for it. In a way, we’re you. We’re out there playing gigs, and seeing what works and what doesn’t. Then we get back to the office and make sure it’s the best it can be for you.
